Children are gifts from Allah – we need to prepare them, to make them aware and guide them to things which will earn Allah’s pleasure.
Are we doing enough for children to be able to foster a global society based on the principles of goodness, ethics and morality? Actually, this can only be done if we teach and nurture children with Islamic values and concepts and also teach them to apply basic Quraanic principles in their daily lives.
Through Al – Hasanat Playgroup we aim to:
• Cultivate the love and steadfastness for Allah in our children. Children are taught to reflect upon the natural phenomena both in the heavens and earth and slowly begin to have the understanding that these are the signs of Allah and that He is the sole creator.
• To become confident Muslims and Muslimahs and to act kindly towards mankind. Children should know their rights and responsibilities which according to the Quraan begin at home and continues in concentric circles, encompassing the local and international arena of the world. Children need to understand where they come from and feel sufficiently confident in their own religious and cultural identity to appreciate others’ customs and practices.
• To inculcate the love of learning in a fun Islamic way. It is the duty of all Muslims to educate themselves so that they may gain knowledge. Without gaining Ilm one may not gain wisdom and without wisdom one may not be able to judge between right and wrong and what is true or false.
• To provide a high level of Deeny and secular education this is relevant to the child’s world. Children are taught that history matters, through the stories of the prophets, which hold important messages to mankind. They hold warnings of the disasters which occurred through disobeying Allah’s commands and also the good fruits which bore through virtuous deeds. Children need to understand basic concepts such as shapes, colours, numbers and relevant themes of their world.
The themes, rhymes, Anasheeds and activities are designed to enhance and stimulate the child’s understanding of Allah our creator, Insha Allah.
What is the Al - Hasanat playgroup and what does it offer?
• Al – Hasanat playgroup offers an Islamically educational program based on principles developed by top Child Psychologists, Occupational therapists, Aalimahs and Teachers for children aged 2 – 5 years old. This program is designed to stimulate the love of learning, increase self confidence, enhance co-ordination and perception skills and most importantly to connect and praise Allah our creator and our Rabb.
• Children are looked after and guided by the facilitators and are encouraged to explore and learn in a safe, loving environment. Facilitators are able to discover each child’s personality traits because of small, intimate groups. Each class has a class aid that will ensure that your child will be given the necessary attention thereby increasing their self confidence. Children are encouraged to learn through play while following a simple unrigid routine. Children are provided with- age appropriate high standard, good quality educational equipment and activities which are of the child’s stages of development.
• Messy play is an intricate part of our programme we have different messy play and tactile set out for our little ones to experience and explore in order to prevent tactile intolerance.
• We work on weekly themes such as Allah the Creator, my home, space, transport etc. all activities, discussion ring and movement will be related to the theme
• The Play school is an extension of the home and therefore just as the ‘mothers lap’ is the first Madressah of a child, facilitators at the Al – Hasanat Playgroup are given the opportunity to cultivate an effort on Deen thereby shaping our children into the adults they will one day be.
• Through Al- Hasanat Playgroup we aim to instill the foundation for academic Success as these are the crucial years of the child’s development. Children are intelligent beings and need mental food almost more than physical food. This is the critical time to enhance perceptive skills by an introduction to colours, sizes, shapes, number concepts, spatial awareness, and fine motor and gross motor skills. Of course inculcating a firm belief in Allah and the knowledge of Deen should take preference since these are the crucial years for laying firm foundations. Insha Allah.
